Italy Vs Holland Friendly Match Preview

The match will show how both Italy and the Orange have changed since the World Cup in the Brazil this summer, with both sides having new managers at the helm.
Former Juventus coach Antonio Conte has been appointed to replace Cesare Prandelli as the Italian head coach, while Louis van Gaal has been succeeded by Guus Hiddink as the old/new Holland gaffer.
As for the Italian setup, Conte took the bold move to axe World Cup scapegoat and new Liverpool man Mario Balotelli out of his first squad, while Giorgio Chiellini (calf), Gabriel Paletta (back) and Daniel Osvaldo (hamstring) have all been forced out the squad with injuries.
Holland have also been far from immune from selection headaches too. The visitors have a variety of injury problems, with the attacking trio of Arjen Robben (ankle), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (illness) and Rafael van der Vaart (knock) all pulling out, as have Jordy Clasie (hamstring) and Ron Vlaar (calf).
Guss Hiddink has called up Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk and PSG’s Gregory van der Wiel as replacements.
With so much change and transition in both the Italian and Dutch camps, one may suspect that the relatively evenly matched sides could cancel each other out on Thursday night.
With the season barely underway, and with so many more important matches coming up for players on both sides, it feels likely that both sides would be more than happy with a 0-0 or 1-1 draw to share the honours.
