It’s
every young Brazilian’s dream to represent their country at a FIFA
World Cup™ on home soil and while Neymar and co. have the next few
months to prove they are worthy of a place at the FIFA World Cup, time
is running out to represent Brazil at the 2014 FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC14).
FIFA today announced the first four competitors who have advanced to the FIWC Brazil Qualifier on 24 April where eight of Brazil’s
best FIFA14 players will battle it out for the chance to represent
their country at the FIWC Grand Final in Rio de Janeiro on 2 and 3 July.
There are now just four spots remaining in the FIWC Brazil
Qualifier and any hopefuls will have to get in quick with just one week
left in the sixth and final FIWC14 Online Season by which players can
still qualify.
FIWC14 is the tenth edition
of the event and marks the first time ever that the Grand Final will
take place in the host nation of the FIFA World Cup™. This year’s event
will pit the 20 best FIFA14 players against each other with the champion
crowned the best in the world, winning USD 20,000 as well as an
invitation to the FIFA Ballon d’Or. FIWC13 champion, Bruce Grannec of
France, qualifies automatically while 18 out of the 20 qualification
spots are given to online qualifiers from around the world. That leaves
one place for the winner of the host nation qualifier.
For the FIWC Brazil
Qualifier, at a venue yet to be announced, Luccas Vinicius Bagarollo
Ferreira, 18, of Santa Barbara d’Oeste; Rafael Salles Leite Fortes, 18,
of Rio de Janeiro; Sérgio Luis Pires Filho, 24, 0f Sao Paulo and Carlos
Alberto Pimentel de Oliveira Filho, 18, of Fortaleza have all won their
places after securing four of the top spots in the FIWC Online Season 5.
There
are still four more places up for grabs through FIWC14 Online Season 6
which people can still take part in before the season finishes on 1
April at 10.59 CET. To enter FIWC Online Season 6 for a chance to
represent Brazil at the FIFA Grand Final visit the FIFA Interactive World Cup page on FIFA.com, @FIWC on Twitter or the FIWC Facebook Page.

opportunity to qualify for the Grand Final and represent their country

The
FIWC is organised by FIFA and its presenting partners EA SPORTS™ and
Sony PlayStation® and is recognised by Guinness World Records as the
world’s largest online gaming tournament with more than 5,000,000
players taking part since 2009. It is an official FIFA tournament that
gives football fans the chance to live out their passion for football
and to interact with other fans around the world. Participants from
every continent battle it out to qualify for the Grand Final, where the
FIWC champion is crowned.
